Word Work Activities using Bananagrams

I am crazy for Bananagrams! If you haven’t heard of them before, they are much like Scrabble tiles without the numerical value.

So many teachers are using these versatile letter tiles in their classrooms as a word work tool. How exciting!

Students can use them to build vocabulary words, spelling words or any word list.

I love finding hands-on word work ideas and often create activities with things from around the house like bottle tops, or things that can be found easily in the classroom, or even the dollar store.

We all know students LOVE manipulating items such as Bananagrams and playing with concrete materials. These processes help students engage and remember what they are learning better than paper and pen in my opinion.

I have created this 8 page freebie that you can use with your set of Bananagrams. Many of the pages can be used with any word list and most can be laminated and used as a center activity, fast finisher or even in an  intervention sessions.
