Writing ideas!

Have you ever looked at a tree from the ground?
Have students lie on the ground. You can ask them what they see and describe it. Listen to the sounds they hear or notice the smells coming from the tree or nearby.
Children could lean on clipboards and draw what they see from the ground looking up!
Have them pretend that they are an animal up in the tree and the tree is their home. Whichever perspective, you take have them write about it when they get back to the classroom.
