How to Secure a Plastic Table Cloth

May 2, 2013 By 2 Comments

Securing the plastic table cloth for your children is so easy. I discovered this idea when I worked in preschool back in the nineties! To prevent children dragging the table cloth off and everything on it or the wind blowing it off if you are outdoors, simply tie the ends of a length of polyester elastic (used for sewing), this one is two metres long for a long table.

Be sure to explain to your children that they are not to remove it. With many classroom tables, you could place it under the over lip of the table so that it is out of sight.

Please be careful when removing it because it can spring off. I would suggest that the adult is the only one who removes it. Hang the elastic on a hook, inside a storage area away from children to prevent young children choking on it.
