First Grade ELA Common Core Differentiated Checklists

I have listed our I’m a Common Core Star Checklists separate from our bundle; I’m a First Grade Common Core Star ELA Rubric Posters and Checklists which I blogged about (click here) late last year.

This set of ELA Checklists for grade one are the perfect edition to your assessment tools.

Each CCSS for ELA has been differentiated to represent the development of students as they progress through the standard. There are five objectives for each strand with the fifth representing the standard itself.

Once you have observed one or more of the five objectives you will tick or date as evidence using a different colored pen for each date.

From here, you will mark one of the circles seen in the image above with the rating that your school uses for reporting it may be a an A-E mark or a word rating like Below Basic (BB), Basic (B) and P Proficient. This will depend on how your school expects you to assess.

The five points also act as a tool for understanding the standards as they are a means of interpreting them.
