Chinese Zodiac Coloring Pages for Chinese New Year 2014
Please note: This file is updated every year. Please click the image above or below to see the current updates.
Did you know that 2014 is the year of the horse according to the Chinese animal calendar?
Chinese New Year is celebrated at the end of January this year and this file is great to help children learn about the Chinese Zodiac calendar.
The coloring pages, display the years for each animal so that children can discover what animal represents their year of birth.
Students will also be able to trace inside the animal name in both English and Chinese.
You could also use these pages as posters by printing them on color paper. Children could also use the pages for craft activities such as collage or painting.

Emma, your work is so amazing. I'm in my second year teaching second grade…as a second career! I wanted to let you know that there's a typo on your Chinese Zodiac doc you just posted. On the second page, it states "Propose of this resource" instead of "Purpose…". Please feel free to remove this comment as soon as you read it! I just wasn't sure how else to get in touch with you! Thanks, Misty Pelliciotta

Misty, you are the best! Thanks for letting me know. I finished up the file a few days before Christmas and must have been in Christmas mode. Thanks again for being so kind and letting me know about the typo. Emma 🙂

Hi Emma, what is the "wu" next to horse? And the "you" next to the chicken in your preview? I don't understand. Can you tell me your source for the Chinese? I teach at a bilingual Chinese/English school. It would be helpful to make the Chinese words mandarin Chinese which is the Chinese they use in most of China.
rat: shu
ox: niu
tiger: hu
rabbit: tu
dragon: long
snake: she
horse: ma
goat/sheep: yang
monkey: hou

Let me know if you have a change and I'll totally buy it! It's so cute!!!!!
